Ben Franklin Transit has 21 routes serving Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland, Prosser, and Benton City. Four are Inter-City routes and 17 are routes called Locals which do not leave their designated city.
Service in Benton City and Prosser is demand-response.
Notice on our system map that the routes represented by solid lines are the Inter-City routes and travel from city to city.
Each city has been assigned a line pattern, Kennewick routes are dashes, Pasco has a checkerboard pattern, the Richland routes are dots and West Richland has stars. These routes are the Local service routes. Local routes remain in their city, you will not find mixed line patterns in a city except for the solid lines representing the Inter-City routes.
During your travel you may have to change buses in order to get to your destination. By tracing your bus route on the map you will find that it connects with other routes at locations called TRANSIT CENTERS or TRANSFER POINTS. Buses are scheduled to arrive at the TRANSIT CENTERS at approximately the same time and leave at the same time so transferring from bus to bus is simple to do and easy to understand.
You can board our buses with the confidence that you'll never be lost. Ben Franklin Transit's Coach Operators will assist you in finding your way. If you're not sure where you are...ask.
Bus stops are blue, white and yellow, and look like the example here. Call Rider Information for the location of the stops you need for your trip. The signs at the TRANSIT CENTERS are color and pattern coordinated with our map and with the individual route schedules.
