    How To Ride

All Ben Franklin Transit routes are numbered and schedule books are coded with colors and line patterns to match the colors and patterns on our map. The schedule books are free of charge and can be found at some government, civic and business facilities throughout the Tri-Cities, West Richland, Prosser and Benton City.  They also can be found on all Ben Franklin Transit buses and at the Three Rivers Transit Center.

For information on outlets where schedules can be obtained, or to have a schedule mailed to you, please call our customer service information numbers:

    • Tri-Cities, Benton City local information: 735-5100
    • Tri-Cities service information for Prosser residents: 1-888-596-9615

Ben Franklin Transit has twenty-one (21) routes serving Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland, Prosser, and Benton City. Five (6) are Inter City routes and fifteen (15) are routes called locals which do not leave their designated city.

There is demand response service in Benton City and Prosser.

Notice on our system map that the routes represented by solid lines are the Inter City routes and travel from city to city.

Each city has been assigned a line pattern, Kennewick routes are dashes, Pasco has a checkerboard pattern, and the Richland routes are dots.  These routes are the local service routes.  Local routes remain in their city, you will not find mixed line patterns in a city except for the solid lines representing the Inter City routes.

During your travel you may have to change buses in order to get to your destination.  By tracing your bus route on the map you will find that it connects with other routes at locations called TRANSIT CENTERS or TRANSFER POINTS.  Buses are scheduled to arrive at the TRANSIT CENTERS at approximately the same time and leave at the same time so transferring from bus to bus is simple to do and easy to understand.

    What if I get lost?

You can board our buses with the confidence that you’ll never be lost. Ben Franklin Transit’s Coach Operators will assist you in finding your way.  Customer Service is also available to answer any questions Monday thru Saturday.  If you’re not sure where you are…just ask.

    Bus Stops

Bus stops are blue, white and gold. Call Rider Information for the location of the stops you need for your trip. The signs at the TRANSIT CENTERS are color and pattern coordinated with our map and with the individual route schedules.

Lose Something While Riding The Bus?

Found items are turned into the Customer Service office.  Call to verify that they have been turned in to our Lost & Found: 735-5100.

    Snow & Ice Alert

In severe winter weather with ice and snow on the roadway, time schedules can be affected and the buses may run late.

    Translation Services

Please call Customer Service at 735-5100 for instructions on how to use Google Translate on our website and other language services.

    BFT’S Travel Training … 735-5100
