BFT’s IT crew received the Team of the Year award for their efforts far beyond day-to-day expectations – they bless us with innovative ideas, great customer service and a commitment to making BFT a quality organization. Let’s meet the guys who make up this awesome team.
Devin has been with BFT for 4 years and handles the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operations of BFT’s servers and systems. “I enjoy the constant change in tasks. Every day is a new day, with new challenges that I get to work through and find solutions.” Devin has helped update IT infrastructures implementing modern technologies that better support our day-to-day activities. “Being able to help set up a whole new system in a company this big is rare and a challenge, but it’s helped me grow and build skills I wouldn’t have had anywhere else.”
Jon is BFT’s Information Technology Service (ITS) Technician and started in-the-midst of the pandemic. He specializes in a system called TripSpark Ranger, which allows for real time tracking of BFT vehicles and voice messaging between the dispatch team and drivers for improved communication. “It’s been wonderful working with a great team on complex issues and making a difference in the workplace.” When Jon isn’t hard at work, he is off fishing or hanging out around the campfire with his family.
Rich has been with BFT for less than a year but has already made a big impact leading several larger IT projects. Shortly after joining, he helped upgrade the entire BFT network and is currently working on upgrading BFT's phone system, which is 20 years old. Rich has been in IT for 35 years and enjoys the challenges that come with this field. “I have a logical brain. I like writing software, upgrading hardware, and working towards solutions.” One thing he enjoys most about his role at BFT is, “I get to work with a great group of guys! It’s refreshing to have everyone willing to help and get the job done.”
Caleb is BFT’s Network & Systems Administrator and oversees CyberSecurity, which means he’s the man who helps keep our network security in tip top shape. A misconception he hears often is that he works ‘on’ the buses, but really, IT works behind the scenes to “ensure critical infrastructure is running smoothly so staff members can do their jobs.” The work done on the actual buses is left to another talented and amazing team. 😊 Outside of work, you can find Caleb relaxing at home or putting his skills to the test with a board game, he says “the more complicated, the better.” He also enjoys getting to the beach with his wife or taking his pup for a walk.
