General Leave

BFT employees accrue general leave or vacation at different rates based on their years of service and classification.

Retirement Plans

• Washington State Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) – All eligible employees are covered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems and may choose either PERS II or PERS III upon hire.
• Deferred Income Retirement Plans– Ben Franklin Transit offers two deferred compensation plans (IRS 457 plans), “ICMA” and “DCP”.  The specific details of the plans are available from the Human Resources department.
