Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)

The organization designated by local elected officials as being responsible for carrying out the regional urban transportation planning process and other regional planning processes.

The MPOMetropolitan Planning Organization More is designated by the governor and must be in place in every urbanized area over 50,000 population. The MPOMetropolitan Planning Organization More is responsible for the 20-year long-range plan and the transportation improvement program.
