More Improvement Project represents a transformative investment in enhancing the rider experience, improving operational efficiency, and creating a more vibrant, community-centered transit hub. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to modernizing public transportation infrastructure and meeting the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
Located at a critical junction in the transit network, the upgraded transit centerA facility where transit vehicles converge, enabling passengers to transfer among routes and services. Transit centers are generally located off the street and provide passengers with a shaded or enclosed waiting area, seats, drinking fountains, and transit information. More will serve as a key mobility hub — seamlessly connecting riders, operators, regional routes, and neighborhood amenities in a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment.
POTENTIAL PROJECT COMPONENTS
The project includes a range of improvements and new features designed to enhance functionality, comfort, and community engagement:
- Expanded Park & Ride Facility: Convenient parking options to support commuters and reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles.
- Updated Passenger Platform: A redesigned, ADA-accessible platform with improved lighting, signage, and shelter for safer and more comfortable boarding.
- Operator• An employee of a transit system whose workday is spent in the operation of a transit vehicle; for example, a bus driver.
• The organization that runs a transportation system on a day-to-day basis. It is also known as an operation, property, or system.
More Comfort Building: A dedicated, modern space for operators that supports rest, wellness, and improved working conditions. - Community Space: A flexible, open area with infrastructure to accommodate rotating food trucks, a potential coffee shop, and seasonal events — creating a welcoming space that reflects the local character.
- Customer Service Presence: On-site personnel or kiosk to assist riders with trip• A one-way movement of a person or vehicle between two points for a specific purpose; sometimes called a one-way trip to distinguish it from a round trip. Also see boarding.
• The movement of a transit vehicle in one direction from the beginning of a route to the end of it; also known as a run.

PUBLIC OPEN HOUSES
BFT will host two public open house events at 22nd Avenue Transit CenterA facility where transit vehicles converge, enabling passengers to transfer among routes and services. Transit centers are generally located off the street and provide passengers with a shaded or enclosed waiting area, seats, drinking fountains, and transit information. More on Wendesday, July 16, 2025. The first one will be held from 7 to 9 a.m., and the second one will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.
