General Demand service connects riders to pre-designated stops (including connection to Route 170). This service is demand responsive, meaning riders must request service via telephone to receive a ride.

How It Works

*Phone reservations are required at least one day (or up to seven days) in advance. Reservations for Monday must be made before 5:00 p.m. on the previous Friday.
Get Picked Up
Riders will be scheduled for pickup at a designated time and must be at the stop at that time. The BFT vehicle may arrive up to 20 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time to accommodate multiple nearby customer pickups; please allow for this flexibility if you have an appointment.
When you call to make a reservation, you will be asked for:
- Your name and phone number
- Date of the planned trip• A one-way movement of a person or vehicle between two points for a specific purpose; sometimes called a one-way trip to distinguish it from a round trip. Also see boarding.
• The movement of a transit vehicle in one direction from the beginning of a route to the end of it; also known as a run.

General Demand Inclement Weather Procedures
If BFT cannot service areas due to unsafe road conditions, BFT staff will call riders to alert them of service disruptions. Please make sure sidewalks and walkways are cleared from snow and ice so our drivers can safely assist riders in and out of vehicles.
